About the Author

Greg Shepard is one of the most influential strength coaches in the United States. He has coached football at three NCAA Division I schools and was a strength and conditioning consultant for the Utah Jazz from 1981 to 1997. He was selected as the Football Coach of the Year in Utah in 1975, and over the past 25 years he has given more than 500 seminars to coaches and athletes in all 50 states. More than 9,000 high schools have implemented Shepard’s Bigger Faster Stronger (BFS) program, and of these schools, more than 300 have won state championships in football after having had BFS clinics.

Shepard received his doctorate in physical education from Brigham Young University. In 1977 he became the president of BFS, an exercise equipment manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. For the past 25 years Shepard has been the publisher of Bigger Faster Stronger, a sports conditioning magazine that is distributed to every high school, college, and professional football team in the country. He is also the author of four books and 23 videos on sport conditioning. Shepard is married with four children and currently lives in Provo, Utah.
